Civilization

Civilization: making or becoming civilized ie to improve from a primitive to a developed stage of society or to simply to improve the behavior of.....(oxford)

Mankinds biggest achivement...civilization. No. Sorry. I am wrong. How can it be called an achivement if it is not yet attained. The scope of improvement is not exhausted and so civilization is not yet achieved. Will it ever be? The process of getting civilized is the the thing at which mankind has been working at since his very existence. Phew!! So many lifetimes over and over again!! Think about it. Do we have a claim to the word 'civilized'? If so then civilized against what? Against our past! Oh yes we are! We have improved right? Then what about our past? 'uncivilised'? Did they think of themselves uncivilized? I dont think so. Well..again..will our future accuse us of being 'uncivilized'? So is the idea of civilization a paranoia of the present grandeur compared to the past...'the theory of relativity' of life?

Or is it a war which we wage against our own past? The same war which our future will wage against us in its time. A war which maintains the constant unstability across time required for its very existence. A silent war and we are all soldiers. Fighting little battles. Battles against individual pasts. A battle without boundaries. The battle of self improvisation. We use up our
lifetime waging this war and then hand it over to the next generation to take it from where we left to bring oneself to perfection. The perfect being in a Perfect society in a perfect
world. God save us if that happens. That would be the end. It would stop the process. The process which is responsible for the evolution of mankind. The process which is the very reason for man to exist. Man is an animal of reason. That would be his folly on judgement
day. Perfection attained, he looses his 'reason' for existence and that will finish him. It would kill you and me too.

Perfection is what I want and perfection is what I will never achive. Thank god for that. I prefer joining the battle which i wont win. I want to be in the process not be the result.
